Life's Little Moments

Green

...and pink and purple.  And tiny, in keeping with today's Tiny Tuesday challenge in the theme of "something green".

I went up and spent several hours with the martins this morning but although I took about 700 pics, nothing really floated my boat.  My hands weren't completely steady and the light was challenging.  A few keepers but mostly just a morning of fun.  They are mostly done with constructing their nests other than a few sticks and leaves so mostly they were flying to and from the nest "condos" off in search of prey.  At one point all 25-30 martins took to the sky chattering madly which is when I spotted a late-season Harrier low over the field with a grackle in hot pursuit.  Fun to see but no photos to show for it.

Back at home I finished off the edits on the images from this weekend, loaded them into galleries and sent the links to my contact.  I'm quite happy with some of the images I got and I hope the riders (and parents of the young riders) enjoy them.

Pulled some weeds and pottered around in my patio garden while Jax kept watch.  Not a lot of insects just yet, although I did see a nice dragon fly and some wasps.  It's going to be cool the rest of the week so I'm not sure there will be much invertebrate action until it warms up again.  Fortunately, there are plenty of birds.  The swallows have started adorning their nest with feathers which is a sure sign that they'll soon start laying eggs.
