Back at Bennachie ....
Well on the road to it!
We left our hotel today and headed for East Aquhorthies stone circle. You can read about it at the end of the blip. The wind was much stronger today and the temperature significantly lower than yesterday.
Lisa wanted to see a harbour afterwards so we stopped at two, Stonehaven first where she was fascinated to see the path heading over the headland to Dunnottar. We had a very pleasant lunch in a cafe in the square too. The dial is the barometer on the tower of the town hall, just by the market cross. Apparently it was bought by public subscription and was a boon both for fisher folk and for those waiting for the fleet to come in.
Our next stop was Arbroath, a more traditional fishing harbour. We had some freshly made hot doughnuts and of course bought the obligatory Smokies.
I headed home from there. It was a long day of driving, I did 560 miles over the weekend.
Cleo was pleased to see us, I'd left her food in an automatic feeder and she seems to have done very well with Ali popping in to see her.
