Canyonlands National Park
We did not worry about getting up early and enjoyed a relaxed breakfast before heading off to Canyonlands NP. It was quite cold so we took a few different layers, but my walking shoes were still a little wet so I wore sandals and hoped my walking shoes would dry in the back window of the car.
We arrived and could see cloud in the distance and wondered if it might rain. We first went to Grand View Point overlook, just was wet drove up it started to rain, then sleet and then hail. We stayed in the car resting our eyes for 15 mins and let it pass, which it did.
We had a quick walk around and then headed on to all the other view points, dodging the rain showers. It had cleared quite well so we did the short walk to Mesa arch. Soon after we may our way back to our apartment for coffee and a doughnut.
In the evening we had a sunset jet boat tour which took us down a section of the Colorado River. We did not know what to expect. The river is not very deep, so the boat was quite flat bottomed skimming over the water at a good pace.
The captain stopped at a few places on the way and pointed things out but went back at speed. It did get a bit cold on the way back. We then had a dinner before heading back to our apartment.
We move to a different place tomorrow so will be packing again in the morning.
