Gaps

I am starting to feel like I am cursed, or the Podcasting Gods want me to shut up for a bit, because hoo boy are the recording programmes trying my patience... Last week, I did several tests on several services and, after running into literally every single problem you could possibly run into when recording a call, we (myself and my Never Seen co-hosts) settled on Zoom. Over the weekend, I forked out for the annual plan, and when I came to record tonight, I could no longer log into Zoom on my laptop. Swapped to my Chromebook, and even though it worked, the sound dropped out several times, and the call fully disconnected once... After downloading the recorded file, it appears to have cut the last 5mins off for no reason. In this picture you can see one of the bits of dead air in the waveform; once I ran it through the truncate silence function, it shaved a whole 6mins off the file...!
