Meadow thistle

The weed killer had'nt worked it's magic on the ivy on the front path so I gave it a stronger dosage this morning, then an early visit to the plot to do some watering. Down to CK by 7.45am. Gas engineer rang at 8.10..."be there in 15mins". I thought he was on going to assess the job but no, he fitted the Locking Cooker Valve there & then. I made Mum's porridge quickly while he fetched his tools from the van. What fantastic service, & peace of mind for me. He was actually there over an hour. I just need to put one of the keys somewhere that Mum won't find.
I walked a very impatient Indie around the heath. There are very few flowers on the meadow thistles as the cattle have chomped them.
Mum & I went to Trago Mills, picked up summer bedding packs plus a selection of herbaceous perennials for her garden. Planting tomorrow weather permitting.
Tidied up my own back garden this afternoon. The slugs & snails have enjoyed some mighty fine dining on my hostas. It has to stop. I trimmed off the many damaged leaves then gave the plants a scatter of slug pellets. Potted on a couple of tender geraniums, & a rather lovely Sedum.
I decided to have a blitz in the greenhouse. The car is now laden, ready for an early recycle centre visit. Then drop a walking frame at Newton Abbot hospital. (surplus to requirements). We've kept one.
Thanks to Miranda 1008 for hosting.
