New Mallard
At the lochside hide this afternoon.
Coots and swan: no change.
New chicks around.
First, a female mallard, Anas platyrhynchos, brought her fresh brood of 9 (maybe 10) in front of the hide. The wee ones were scooting about everywhere so I couldn't get them all in a single shot. Instead I have concentrated on just one for my blip.
Next, I noticed movement among the vegetation at the water's edge. Athough most were keeping hidden, I did see one adult moorhen and two new chicks that emerged briefly.
