Enough is Enough

I’ve finally called a halt on crocheting this Granny Square blanket. It’s a soothing and cathartic pastime when watching the TV but even if latterly I was just doing the border, I finally thought enough’s enough and stopped. The nice thing about a simple thing like this is that at any time, I could without any trouble add to it. I have an intended recipient in mind but whether or not she will want it is another story.

I had a late start this morning with a book group meeting at 10:30,  almost lunch time as far as I’m concerned. The book was ‘God’s Old Time’ by Sebastian Barry and I have to say none of us liked it or as a member said, there was ‘ muted enthusiasm’ for it. However the accompanying cake was rated first class -a gluten free courgette cake.Maybe the time will come when we forget the book and just eat cake.

I have taken the bold decision to change the CA who does my Tax Return. It was only after HL died that I started having to pay tax. The chief cook and bottle washer, who also cleaned and managed the whole shebang didn’t  get a salary. I haven’t the confidence to do my own return and the CA I inherited from HL has started charging what I think is a highly inflated fee. Enough is enough and so I had a chat with a small local firm run by two women and a man who will charge half the amount. The deed is done and I can relax .
