Gently down the stream

Germander Speedwell

We've had small amounts of rain today, even thunder, but also plenty of sun.  Infact the sun's out now and looking through the office window I keep expecting to see butterflies in the garden.  Instead I found this around lunchtime at the back of the furthest border, which definitely needs some weeding though I think we'll need more rain to make using the hoe a success!  It is my favourite of all the speedwells - such a vivid blue with those wonderful white-tipped stamens.

In extras is a shot from much earlier when it was mildly raining - a crane fly hanging under a reed to keep dry.

Okay, that's it from me for today.  Hope your Wednesday's treating you kindly  xx
