Ol' Blue Eyes
I had been wondering why it was taking so long for the relevant authority to send me the official text message telling me to book an appointment to register my mum's death. It turned out that due to the care home not updating their next of kin records, they had been sending the message to my dad's long-defunct phone. I had told them at the time so I'm not sure why they didn't update it. Maybe because we had asked them to call me with any info or requests due to my Dad being deaf...
They sent the message to me once they had confirmed that I was now next of kin and I followed the link to make the booking. That proved as a challenge as I was not sure if the death had been referred to the Coroner or not. The home didn't know, and the GP surgery they had used didn't either since they had already deleted mum's records... The form would not let me leave it blank to move on to making the booking... I Googled Coroner's Court, and her name was not in the list on the local ones so I ticked No! I'm sure they will soon tell me if it's wrong!
Anyway, I'll be going to do it next Tuesday.
Once that was sorted out I went out for a walk, bought some ground coffee for my machine and decided to investigate some of Lincoln's little-used alleyways. This painting is near a music bar down one of them. I had no idea that you could be arrested for Seduction or Adultery in America at one time! I'm surprised they had enough jails for that...
There were rumours about Sinatra being in the Mafia too, but apparently rumours is all they were...
