A Red Red Rose

This morning we cycled into town to the cinema, to see the film "Ocean" , narrated by David Attenborough, which we thought was very good. Although it contained the bad news of the devastation caused to marine life  by industrial fishing, this was balanced by the good news that marine life can recover amazingly quickly when fishing- free zones are created. There was some excellent photography of beautiful sea creatures.
Afterwards, we cycled on to visit my Mother.  Today, she was propped up in bed, and had just had a little food for lunch. She was much more alert than yesterday, and her hands were warm.  She interacted better today when I read some poetry.
We noticed a vase with three lovely red roses on her table.  On enquiring of the Staff, I discovered that apparently Doris had been talking last night about how my father would  bring her roses ( from their garden). This morning, one of the carers had picked three roses from the Care Home's garden for her. How sweet is that?
