The Beithir
I struggled to get out of my bed, so didn’t make the bus I had planned to get. I went for the next one, but realised that I had forgotten my phone, so missed that bus too. Third time lucky, and I got into Edinburgh to catch a train to Glasgow.
I was taking BB out for lunch, but he was out for a run when I eventually got there, so I had a wander along the Kelvin walkway and then along the canal. It was a very hot day, with no cold wind, which was a real treat. I enjoyed my wander, then met up with BB at his flat. He then took me to the pizza place he had chosen for lunch.
The pizza was very nice, and we both really enjoyed our lunch. He then took me for a walk down to the Clyde. He got a little lost, thankfully I knew where we were and was able to keep him right. We walked past the Hydro where we could just hear a sound check-it was Kylie! We walked back into town along the Clyde Walkway, and caught the train back to Edinburgh.
We had planned to meet TT for a quick drink, before BB went off to meet up with friends for a night out in Edinburgh. As soon as we for off the train I had to put my jumper on due to the cold wind. TT hadn’t brought a jumper. He quickly realised that he needed one, so ran off to Princes Street where he picked up a cheap sweatshirt. We met TT in the Bow Bar. BB had a quick drink, made friends with a couple of dogs, then ran off to meet his friends. TT and I finished our drinks and headed off to find the bus.
We had a quick tea and a quiet evening. I think I was worn out by the heat of the day.
This is the beithir, a mythical Scottish serpent. It is located by the canal at the Stockingfield Junction. The extra show another interesting sculpture, and buildings along the canal.
