Cornwall day 4: Prehistoric meanderings

We were in the mood for stone circles, quoits and other interesting monuments and West Penwith is covered in them. We walked for miles through flower strewn lanes,  gorsy moorland and on the edges of cliffs. This is Men an Tol, possibly originally part of a stone circle and still incredibly impressive. You have to climb through the hole to be cured of rickets and rheumatism. It also helps if you want to become pregnant! The hole is a lot smaller than it looks and I got the giggles half way through but made it.

The extra is Chun Quoit - a good miles walk through the moor, this monumental structure always just on the skyline, It is colossal with commanding 360 views and the capstone is at a slightly jaunty angle giving it the impression of a massive mushroom.
