Trains, Viaducts, Hills and Rally Cars
We were dropping in some legal paperwork into Kendal, while "south" I suggested we head over to Ribblehead for a recon of the viaduct. I will be back for a choo-choo shoot at some point hopefully.
While we were there we planned to hike up over Whernside. My kind of plan - railways, architecture, hill walking, nature and a pub at the end.
One thing we did not factor in was Colin Macrae's 1995 Championship winning Subaru Impreza 555 doing some sort of marketing shoot.
I managed to bag a couple of shots as it trundled up and down with a drone filming. (Shame it wasn't giving it some beans)
Then a hike up over Whernside 7.5miles and 1700ft ascent, it was hot and dusty, we descended what I would describe as a "parachute route" which was interesting.
When back on the flat we passed through a farm where Curlews were active, I managed to get my first shot of one.. Hopefully I can follow up with a better quality shot.
Blip is the Subaru, Ribblehead viaduct with Ingleborough through the arches.
Extra is the viaduct with Whernside in the background.
I couldn't decide which I preferred, Jess went for the Subaru.
