Egg hunt
This morning, PY and I went to Asda to buy Easter eggs for the family. We found a very depleted aisle shop with a very limited selection. Although we have ensured that there is something for everyone on Easter Sunday, I am kicking myself for not ordering in advance and having something delivered. It seems that many people were in the same position. Given Easter eggs have been in shops since Christmas, it’s a bit annoying.
In the afternoon, we headed to Attingham Park to let the children complete the Easter egg trail and claim their chocolate prize. It was very well done, this time featuring tasks rather than just pictures of eggs. There was a mini race track, plate spinning and goal scoring among other events—this picture of task five was the closest to looking for eggs. I did wear the cardboard bunny ears for most of the walk, so nobody can say I didn’t enter into the spirit of it. The coffee at the end was lovely, if a bit chilly when sitting in the courtyard.
On the way out, the lady who said to me that we have to do these things for our grandchildren, about my paper bunny ears, did not make me feel young. The rest of the family laughed for the rest of the day. Mum went to bed, still laughing as she climbed the stairs.
Back home for Lancashire hotpot and a game of dominoes.
