Lorry backs into Edinburgh tram

Mr hazelh sent me this picture this afternoon as I was walking from Mummy hazelh's care home to Newcastle Central Station. He was a passenger on an Edinburgh tram travelling up Leith Walk when it was suddenly struck by a reversing lorry. Fortunately nobody was hurt (as far as I know).

My visit to Mummy hazelh today went very well. I hope that I am not 'speaking too soon' but she seems to have returned to her usual placid, kindly self. On arrival at the care home this morning the staff told me that she has been well behaved over the past few days. While I sat with her today she happily read the paper, listened to the radio, and chatted with me. I should admit that most of the conversation was centred on answering questions about her location and the reason for being there. The best part of the day came when my middle sister made a visit too. She is staying at the family house on Holy Island at the moment so drove down to Newcastle for the afternoon.

There has been terrible disruption on the trains this evening due to a power outage at York. I managed to blag myself a spot on an earlier train than the one that I had booked. I am really grateful to the train manager for letting me on the earlier service because the train that I should have taken is currently running 108 minutes late.

Exercise today: walking (~22k steps).
