Ring of Brodgar

This morning we visited another of the ‘Heart of Neolithic Orkney UNESCO World Heritage Site’ locations - the Ring of Brodgar.
Spectacularly set between two bodies of water, the location is stunning. There are believed to have been 60 stones originally, with just 36 now remaining (21 of those still standing).
We were lucky again with the weather today; slightly more cloudy facing one direction, but still lots of blue sky.

We then headed back to Stromness; having visited there on Sunday, we thought it would be a good place for lunch, and to wander into the shops that had been closed the other day. Lots of pretty houses to look at, as well as a surprising number of ghost signs.

Back to Kirkwall late afternoon, where we had a look around the very interesting Orkney Museum.
