Swollen-thighed beetle

Had a great lunchtime pootling around the campus finding insects and plants to add to the bioblitz competition. I love these green shiny beetles that stay still while you photograph them. 

Bat group in the evening and a great talk on where to see bats and how to interpret the signals that you get from a bat detector. We did have a quick bat walk at the end. Part 2 on using flashy devices that plug into your phone will follow next week.
