Gently down the stream

Green Hairstreak

..on one of its favourite food plants, birdsfoot trefoil.

Had such a lovely time up on the butterfly reserve today.  The sun was shining, the larks were singing and I had it all to myself apart from butterflies, moths and some (to me) fascinating beetles.  The sainfoin is beginning to flower as is the meadowsweet, the birdsfoot trefoil is everywhere, with quantities of dog roses, buttercups and ragged robin.  I saw at least ten dragonflies (broad-bodied chasers) at the pond and have promised myself a trip up there with a water bottle and plenty of patience to see if I can get a shot of them.

Meanwhile I'm hoping you've all had a good day too.  Enjoy your evening  xx
