Glad to be Back Home

We expected our conservatory work to be finished yesterday so we collected Ziggy from the cattery.

The peaceful calm return to home didn’t last for Ziggy as we had to have two workmen round to investigate the leak we had yesterday and they decided that they needed to replace the lead flashing. Ziggy was very nervous and scared of all the banging and he retreated under the footstool in the lounge.

It now transpires that the additional leakage we had from one of the Velux windows is because rainwater is sitting on the windows instead of draining away. It seems that this is because the pitch of the roof is insufficient. To cut a long story short they now need to return for two days next week to rectify this by increasing the height of the conservatory roof where it joins the bungalow. Not a small job. A situation that shouldn’t have happened. I have to say, that annoying as this is, the company have been excellent at dealing with the problem. We still have buckets in place as it’s due to rain tonight.

Now we’re trying to find cattery availability for Ziggy while this remedial work takes place as he gets so upset by the disruption. Although you wouldn’t think so to see him here after the workmen had left. He is needing a lot of reassurance and strokes.
