Kilnsey
As it was still beautiful weather today, and the forecast for the weekend isn’t promising dad and I had a drive out.
We started at Midgley’s garage in Skipton. Dad worked for Midgley brother’s in 1946/47 and again in the early 1950’s. Had a lovely chat with the manager who suggested we called in at their branch in Grassington - where we were heading anyway.
Called in, and made incredibly welcome. The current owner came to meet us, and him and dad had a great time reminiscing.
We then headed up to Buckden and Kettlewell where dad’s sister used to live. We all have happy memories of both places and spent a lot of time there over the years.
At the recommendation of John Midgley we had lunch at the cafe at the trout farm at Kilnsey, and then as it was lovely we sat on a bench admiring the view , and the ducklings on the lake. This is where I took these photos.
A lovely day all round.
Also back blipped for yesterday
