Kaybees Bits

Lovely Rhoddies

Another 07.45am start from the fitters which started with them going through what they had done and what they still had to do.
Although I threw a fly in the ointment by pointing out the 'pantry' cupboard didn't open properly due to the top corner catching on the underside of the stairs. I suggested the top be cut at an angle and sticking the cut bit to the top of the cupboard. That was deemed a good idea and Lee (the fitter) suggested that the cupboard next to it have a similar cut - but on the other side so that it looked even and not a oversight.
I also pointed out that the shelves went right across the width of the cupboard instead of leaving space for the ironing board.
So the tape-measure came out and off went Lee to the factory to get things cut and adjusted and to find out why there was no tap for the sink and a lack of 2 cupboard fronts in the delivery.

We went out for a walk in the lovely sun and I had taken the right camera to get some shots of the Rhododendrons.

The lads worked solidly for slightly more than 12 hours - again without a break for anything to eat.
They had wanted to finish today, but obviously without the cupboard fronts they will have to come back next week (Lee had 'stolen ' a tap to put in meantime). It may be on Monday or it may be after the plasterer has done his work on the ceilings. He is due on Monday.
Meantime, we can bring stuff in from the garage and stock the cupboards, fridge and freezer and use the appliances. Learning to use an induction hob could be fun!
The ironing board now fits and the cut high level cupboard door now opens by the way.

When the guys left they went away with dish, a box, a gonk, 2 key rings and a spinning top each.
