Fields of Barley
I headed out to Hopetoun today, after phoning first to check they had strawberry plants in. Katy has been looking for some and we've both been greeted with empty shelves and the message that there will be more in soon! Today mission accomplished.
My blip is of a barley field just outside Newton on the coast road to Bo'ness and Linlithgow. It's looking very lush and those lovely hairy heads of green were swaying in the breeze. I had plenty of time to look at it as I queued to get through the temporary traffic lights at the crossroads. Needless to say I came back another route - a bit like the Magi!
The barley field wasn't gold but it did put me in mind of this lovely song written by Sting. https://youtu.be/KGED47FKXE4?si=zjO_sK_FlnyY334S
Talking of fields of gold, on my way back on the old A9, I spotted a field which was gold and had already been cut, I presume for hay. It seems very early to be harvesting.
We did our usual Friday job of picking up the older girls and getting them to their various dance activities. It's been sunny today but I'm so aware of lovely weather is about to come to an end. Still I won't need to water the garden any longer.
The cleaner finished at the Rectory today. I've put a collage of the new kitchen in the extras. I'm not sure if the yellow!
Tomorrow is interview day so I'm going to be busy. It's such a responsibility. Hopefully the right person is among those we've selected to interview. One candidate is away till the end of next week so we haven't managed to arrange their interview till 3rd June which is hard on the others who have to wait... For us too.
Btw, I also uploaded yesterday's blip today if you want to go back and have a look.
