The White of his Eye

Out early with the camera I was somewhat surprised to be able to get this close to the stag from last week. He was lying down near a balancing pool and didn't seem inclined to get up so I slowly walked around towards him, keeping a post and rail fence between us.

I have got this close to a stag before, but on that occasion I made a swift retreat as there was nothing between me and his antlers. If anything, this one seemed more wary of me. The antlers continue to grow and I'm sure I will get more images before the velvet is removed.

Later I caught up with L at the stables to check out areas to do some photography in the coming weeks.
