Grey drizzly day activity

The coloured pencil group I am in set us a challenge - to try and reproduce part of a Monet painting using coloured pencils. To section off a part of the original image and have a go. It was really difficult! The left hand image shows the top half - the sky, and the right hand one shows it almost finished. Matching the colours and trying to recreate the brush strokes was ‘challenging’ (this seems to have become the new word for ‘difficult’. The original painting had Venice in the title but I can’t remember the rest.

It was.very good for concentration and took my mind off my health issues for a while. In our colouring group, our tutor taught us 23 different ways of using a coloured pencil, but I can’t remember them all.

It’s raining properly now after a drizzly day, but the gardens really need it. It’s strange not seeing the sun though.
