In fact there were two females with him, but the other one ducked down into the long grass and disappeared from view.

All the vegetation was looking much greener after last night's rain, and showed up the two Great White Egrets fishing at RSPB Saltholme this afternoon (first extra), but my favourite find of the day was a Great Diving Beetle (second extra). It was a difficult subject to blip, though.
