Darlington Busker
Had a much better night's sleep last night in the Black Knight - used to the time difference and felt pretty normal again. My painful leg was also completely restored. Driving for nearly 200 miles following LV the day before with no constant speed meant my poor right leg was constantly dancing a duet with the accelerator and I just wasn't used to it. Anyway, we were taken to an excellent Italian restaurant for breakfast, Imperial Express where I had a wonderful full english breakfast which pretty much lasted me the whole day: We have also found an excellent little coffee shop, Echo 3, where they roast their own coffee and they know how to make a decent cappuccino (flat white). Dinner was a small sandwich and I still feel full. Otherwise the walk and the weather were good but we had to bid a fond farewell to LV as he motored away in the company van full of wine to his latest show. Tomorrow we descend on more family with lunch booked at J and T's house in Sutton.
This gentleman was serenading the passers by outside Barclays Bank, another building in Darlington that was built by the Quakers - there are a lot of connections with the Quakers here in Darlington which was not something I was aware of until LV gave us some background.
