Arriving home

It finally rained yesterday and a lot overnight. It will have done the plants good and definitely the parched lawns - no doubt all the weeds will shoot up now!
Filled the bird feeders up. The finches were there soon after, as if they were watching.
Terry was bad in the morning after a poor night where he had to sit on the edge of the bed in order to get his breath. I asked him why he didn't buzz for assistance. He didn't think they could help as he'd had the painkillers! I told him they would have been able to help him somehow if only another saline nebuliser. He had complained to me in a morning phone call that he waited over an hour and a half for pain relief this morning and only got it at 20 to 10. I was ready to ask his nurse what he or she can do to make sure he isn't left in agony but there was nobody at the desk when I arrived and when I saw Terry he said not to bother the nurse. He said the nurse is good and he is agency so it took him a little while to get onboard with everything. The nurse did seem a very good nurse from what I saw - he was doing a good job and explaining everything to his patients as he did it.
Terry seemed a bit better ie pain better controlled with meds and less breathless. A doctor had seen him and said his blood test indicated a chest infection - blood tests must have really come on since my day! I think what he probably said was that the CRP was raised which shows infection and in view of Terry's symptoms it was probably a chest infection. Anyway, he's on more antibiotics but oral this time.
We had a good laugh at the bootees the carers put on him yesterday - Terry says he looks like a clown! I'd post a photo (I took one for future laughs) but he'd kill me ha ha.
I hope he is better soon. He said the nurse who is on tonight has been on a few nights and is pretty good so that must be reassuring for him - and for me actually.
I felt shattered when I got home and had a kip on the settee.
More rain this evening - of course there is, it's Bank Holiday weekend!
