On my way home this afternoon

Contemplated driving to the hospital today because of the terrible weather - blowing a gale and chucking down early on. However, the rain eased off and I thought I would brave the wind with a walk to a bus stop that's about a half mile walk as I need some exercise and I'm not getting as much as usual.
Terry seemed a bit better today - less breathless and pain under better control. He had a chest xray while I visited. I went down with him to chat while he waited - he didn't have to wait long. The Registrar had been to see him this morning and said it's a long job, the pancreatitis is very complex and although it's going to take time, they will get him right. He said they are having meetings about him all the time. He will be on blood thinners (for the clot) for at least six months. He wanted the chest xray to check Terry has not got pneumonia.
Terry had not had his statin or omeprazole when I spoke to him this evening. Also, the daily forceval is missed more often than given - I pointed out they have left the tablets in his open locker so he sorted one for himself this afternoon (should have had this morning) - it's horrible he said but he needs it as he has not been eating much (for going on three weeks). I asked him if anyone has checked his heels since the day I asked them to and he said no. He thought that maybe they don't need to now he has film dressings and bootees but it's hospital policy to check them every shift on patients with reduced mobility and Terry is only mobile for toilet purposes as it's a struggle. He said they don't feel sore now and didn't want me to check but I will do tomorrow if nobody else has.
I didn't stay the whole of visiting as he seemed like he was ready to nod off so I thought to leave him to try. He said it was chaos after I left and he never got a nap!
I just missed the bus home so I got a different one and got off at a stop with a nice walk home if not the shortest. The bush was one of many by the allotments along the path I was walking. The path there was a bit sheltered from the wind which was still wild.
