Gently down the stream

Avocets

A week ago I said I'd go back to Lymington for some more parent/baby shots.  There weren't many within reach of my lens today (and the wire mesh fence between us and them is a constant annoyance) but I did get this shot of an avocet chick.  The thing I really noticed about it today is how huge and sturdy their legs are even at this stage.  Not just long but very broad and strong looking.  That aside though, they are sweet little fluffballs!  There's a parent bird in extras.

What else can I tell you about today?  A long chat with my neighbour as I planted up geraniums in pots at the front of the house before I left home.  A load of washing hanging at the back to be brought in now I am home.  I think that really is about it.  And it's enough.

Two quick things to say though.  I'm about to turn my comments back on - thank you all for your patience yesterday.  And for those interested, the WFW25_07 challenge finishes at midnight tonight.  From tomorrow (surprise!) we'll be on to WFW25_08.

Hope your day's treated you kindly.  Have a great evening  xx
