Ramblings and Mutterings

Frustration

Up early again to head to the office. I didn't forget my honey for my porridge today.

It was dead quiet in the office, there was hardly anyone in. Which means it is dead boring, but luckily I had booked an early training.

A good call first thing and an interesting development. One of my peers from one of our partners is retiring at the end of the year. It came as a shock. If our business carries on as we are, this might be a nice opening for my young padawan. I let her know. I've got a mate trying to find out if our partner has already identified their replacement.

Headed off to Paddington then as I had a number of calls and couldn't risk being late for my train after lunch. Ironically the late call got cancelled, so I needn't have rushed.

One of the meetings went well for the most of it and then veered off into massive frustration again. I keep flagging up that we have a problem but no one wants to listen and then throws it back to me to say I ought to take responsibility. Trouble is, the problem is not my department it is another, so hence my frustration when I get told to take responsibility for something which is in fact someone else's entirely. We had a call offline after and we were able to have a grown up conversation. So, I am now going to write a strategy on something I still don't have responsibility for, but if I don't do it I know it won't get done.

I caught my train home and there were no problems. I've got plenty of ideas buzzing around my head now for this strategy. Although I did manage to read quite a bit of my latest book.

A lovely quiet evening ahead.

Today I am thankful for:

1.  Not forgetting the honey for my porridge
2.  Good meetings
3.  Taking the bull by the horns and writing this strategy
4.  No train problems
