Exodus

Bella the mum taking away the nest detritus which looking at it is a ringed wading bird with red legs and grey feathers. It didn't take them long to eat that one! The Extra is Bella feeding the chicks though they are out of sight on the tray.

Tewkesbury Abbey peregrines are thriving. There have been 3 eggs and we now have 3 chicks born on 29th April which have now been ringed. They are CD, CF, and CM and going to be named in a competition yesterday with results being announced on the BBC Radio Gloucestershire breakfast show.

The chick flight feathers are coming through which I know because of the webcam Tewkesbury Abbey Peregrines. I was hoping for some shots too from Worcester Cathedral but all the chicks have died, one didn't even hatch, which they think might possibly be the result of bird flu. A sad state of affairs and maybe it's too late for the parents to start again.

I went to Malvern later this afternoon with Millie to see if the Malvern peregrines were there and was sadly disappointed. I didn't have bins with me but it didn't look like there was a lot going on.
