Tyne Bridge Renovation
The Tyne Bridge will be 100 years old on 25th February 1928, and in 2018 it was awarded Grade II* listing for architectural and historical interest.
Inevitably it requires refurbishment from time to time, the previous occasion being in 2001. Last year a further 4-year renovation began to deal once more with the ravages of time.
We had to go to town this afternoon for some shopping and decided to include a walk by the Quayside which gave me the opportunity to take some photos: the main blip is a stitched panorama and the extra is a closer shot from the Gateshead side. I find the scaffolding particularly impressive!
There's more general info about the bridge here, and specific details about the current renovation here.
