Daisy, Daisy

After breakfast we went to the kennels to collect Merlin. He was pleased to see us and delighted to again be able to roll on his back on the grass in the garden.

The morning was then spent unpacking, washing and doing all those other post-holiday tasks. It was a warm sunny day and I was certainly noticing the humidity of the air compared to the fresh light air we experienced in Sweden.

In the afternoon I sorted out the plants in the garden that I’d left standing in bowls of water, planting some into pots for the patio (scented geraniums and violas) and others into the raised beds (aubergine, dill and peppers). Then I weeded and planted more cosmos and some hollyhocks in the front garden.

My blip shows the meadow where we often walk Merlin. The Oxeye daisies have come into flower since we’ve been away and there appears to have been lots of growth in the grasses. This is my favourite time of year to walk there as the wild flowers show in greater numbers and the marbled white butterflies begin to fly.
