Meet Dennis

We had a day out at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve today..as the forecast was pretty good, unlike the rest of the week. Anyway..we didn’t get wet…and it wasn’t cold!

We got the ‘reception committee’ of ducks and geese when we arrived…we were first in..so they were waiting, to relieve us of some of the duck food we had purchased!!

Quite a few chicks of various breeds about…so it was fun.

Dennis the Eurasian Crane is the star of my blip today…he was originally bred (in 2010) for release back to the wild..but he didn’t make the grade because of poor eyesight..so he has been living at Pensthorpe ever since. Added an extra of him together with his mate…known as Mrs Dennis (she is the one out of the water)
