Rain
Today I went into work, where at 10:00 my PhD student Y started giving what ended up as 3.5 hours of research talks. At the interval in the morning session, she produced a tray of excellent chocolate muffins to have with our coffee. She prompted many questions and discussions, so hadn't got through the material she'd prepared for the morning when we knocked off at 12:00. She and most of the audience then had lunch together, before we all took an hour's break - allowing me to have a good chat with our developer F.
At 14:00 she started the last "hour" which went on until 15:30 due to more questions and discussions. I was very pleased and proud of her for having put together so much (generally) good material, and I definitely gained a better insight into some of the technical material. Afterwards, I made sure to tell her how well she'd done!
Back home, A and I chatted until it was time to reheat the rest of Saturday night's vegetarian lasagne, and she went off to Portobello with her saxophone. That meant that I walked Django in the steady rain - that we so badly need!
