Wound up in Wexford

Magpie family

In addition to Stanley and Shirley, who are spending a lot of time here, and all the usual suspects - sparrows, tits, finches - we currently have a family of magpies scavenging from our feeders.  Here are 4 youngsters sitting in the tree, regularly screeching for food.

We also have at least one rook who has decided our feeders are a good food supply and has learnt how to open the top of one of the peanut feeders, and several hooded crows (youngsters, I think) hanging around underneath, with the robins, dunnocks and blackbirds.

It rained and blew a hoolie most of the day.  We did not attempt to do anything in the garden.  Though I'm sure the plants (and especially the weeds) will be enjoying the good water supply.
