Now, as I see it......

All shored up

I blipped this derelict barn back in 2021 and hoped that it might get restored at some point.  It seems now is the time as some work has been going on there over the last few days and it doesn't look like a demolition job.

The brickwork that can be seen at the right of the shot was completely covered in ivy in the last blip and I didn't realise there was anything underneath it.  Now the ivy has been cleared it has revealed a complete wing which goes across the back of the barn and joins up with the building on the left of the shot to form a 'U' shape.  The bit out of sight across the back is in the worst condition being just damaged walls and old rafters, but the overall shape is attractive.

I don't know what the intentions are for the building; it would make a nice 'barn conversion' home but that is unlikely to happen as it is in the grounds of Greshams, the local boarding school.  Although the school has been selling off land (our own house is built on land sold by the school and all the streets are named after old headmasters) I can't see it happening to this as it is in too close proximity to the school itself.
