Grey!
It would be fair to say that the weather has changed dramatically in the past day or two. Last night we had a bit of rain, and the wind was blowing strongly. Usually the sound of wind and rain helps me sleep. But along with Brian's normal huffing and clicking I could hear next door's metal garden decorations clanking. They look very pretty in her garden but the sound they make when it's windy is atrocious. I think she sleeps in the front of the house so is probably not disturbed by them.
It continued to rain for much of today. I had an appointment at the Registry Office this afternoon to register my Mum's death. We walked past the office just over a week ago. When I arrived there today, five minutes early, all the signs for it were gone and I could not see where to go in. I asked a couple of people - one of whom said he lives where I'm sure it used to be...
I was panicking a bit at this point. It has been there for as long as I can remember and no-one mentioned anything about it moving... I searched for it on Google Maps, and turns out it has moved!
By the time I arrived at the new location and found the entrance to get inside, I was ten minutes late and was very snottily told I would have to rebook. Well I had a bit of a meltdown at that point! I informed them that it might be a good idea not to just assume people will realise that they have moved from the place they had been for many years previously when taking bookings. I can't be the only person who has made this mistake I am sure... It's not routine to check the location of everything, just in case, is it? Or is this another of life's little rules that I have not realised existed up until now?
I have to go back on Thursday morning now, when I was hoping to be doing something else! I was very fed-up after walking all the way there, rushing for some of it, in driving rain. I had a brolly but still my trousers and feet got wet!
Before heading home I walked to the Brayford to take a couple of photos looking along the Fosse Dyke. I was ready for home so I didn't want to spend too long looking for a Blip.
At least I should sleep better tonight!
