Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Tempting, Archie. Tempting…

I added some arm exercises and to my cycling efforts this morning. JR sends me fitness videos from Instagram...

Elizabeth took Archie out for a bonus walk (16,000 steps!) and so JR and I walked round to the Marchmont Gallery to see the new 'Dog' exhibition. I got the bus back. JR got the bus on into town.

When I came home I rang my 'Pain Clinic' doctor. I have not yet got my new wonder-pills. I am anxiously awaiting them - I got them right away last time. I would like to start them as soon as possible. I got a secretary who admitted that it 'hadn't been typed up yet'... a WEEK later!!! They have been 'short staffed'. I told her I was going away next week (I lied) so I'd really appreciate them THIS week. She assured me she'd see what she could do...

I watched a few episodes of 'The Bombing of Pan Am 103'. It's absolutely fascinating - the logistics of keeping meticulous records of such a disaster, the liaising between four different police forces, the care taken with EVERY BIT of evidence, the piecing together of clues. The old, very old, computer systems they worked with. The local people took it upon themselves to clean all the clothes and items, and to box each person's belongings carefully. Very touching.

JR happened to mention this evening that when she came home there were two big stuffed pigs sitting out at one of the bins. What?? Big stuffed pigs? Archie and I hot-footed it along, and yes - they were still sitting there.
