Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

What are you doing up there, Mum?

I've been eyeing up the straggly hedge for a week or so, trying to put off the inevitable... it really needed cutting. And next week looks sort of showery. Sooo, I mentioned to JR, who didn't seem too keen, but it couldn't be put off much longer.

And so we sprung into action. Boy! It's hard work. I do the sides, JR does the top, as it's up a ladder, and I'm not safe up ladders nowadays. The hardest part is the sweeping up, because it has to be done several times. However, it's done, and I'd like it to be our last time, but JR thinks we're still fit for another few years...

When we'd finished, JR took Archie for a walk. I collapsed on the sofa and continued watching 'The Bombing of Pan Am 103'. What a story! The painstaking, old fashioned sleuthing is gripping, and the heart-rending moments happen regularly.

About 5pm I got a phone call from the surgery! Yes - the long-awaited, much anticipated new pills are ready for me to pick up, ready to start tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed...
