Jenny and the chicks
E.B. Found this photo of my lovely Jenny who was a brown an white Collie, she had a lovely nature as you can see with her sitting looking after the chicks one of our hens hatched. We had 6 rescue hens and one went broody so I asked a farmer friend if he had any eggs that could be fertile as he had hens and cockerels so he gave me half a dozen and I put them under her and she hatched 4 out of the 6 which is not bad, that black one was a beauty he was a cockerel and used to crow at some ungodly hour in the morning, even when locked in the hen house, the other 3 were female bantams. One of the other hens also hatched some bantam chicks later on.
Shopping day today so busy we called in at a Home Bargains shop as well and I had to come out or I would have spent a fortune on all the garden stuff, then after lunch and putting all the stuff away I was tired, spent the afternoon doing not very much, except a crossword.
Just before tea I went outside to call Misty in, but I couldn't find her anywhere I was calling Foodie and prawns but no sign, I know she never goes far so I was rather worried. Anyhow after about 10 minute searching I had to come in and go up to the bathroom and lo and behold, guess who was fast asleep on the bed, yes Misty, no idea when she came in she must have slipped in behind me when I went out to call her as I shut the door behind me. or shes learned how to transport herself from A to B.
Not a brilliant day rain on and off.
Good night see you tomorrow blipland
