On the birch logs

This was today's only photo, so it's quick to organise. A number of these bracket fungi have grown on a pile of birch logs sawn from a tree which had to be felled a couple of years ago, and I've been meaning to photograph them. I like the patterns and colours. This morning I hung laundry outside, despite the likelihood of rain later; my trust that the wind would dry the sheets and towels in time proved largely justified. 

It's been a quiet day; I don't seem to have achieved much but J has continued to use the gesture switch and scanning on her computer (after which she has slept for most of the evening).
