Greece Day 6
Today, Sunday, we visited the infamous island of Mykonos, and... the nearby island of Delos. Mykonos is a beautiful island, known for its white buildings, the 5 windmills, lovely beaches, etc. It is unfortunately overrun with cruise ships, each with thousands of visitors. We spent an hour early in the morning roaming the winding streets and alleys before boarding a boat to Delos, an uninhabited island, center of the Cyclades, and one of the most important archeological Aegean sites. It is the mythical birthplace of Apollo, god of music and light, and contains the remains of ancient Greece's most sacred religious sanctuaries.
Extras include the Church Cats of Mykonos and the large theater found in the 'theater district' of Delos.
