Today's the day ....................... for a new tactic

We've always come in for a lot of stick from the next generation because most of the music in our house comes in the form of CDs.  Occasionally, we might ask 'Alexa' to help us out - but we like to know how a song comes to be written and we like to see the words written down, if at all possible.  Often, the CD covers are works of art in themselves.

We play the CDs on a proper CD player, through proper big loudspeakers - and the quality of the sound is superb.  There's just one fly in the ointment - the CD player (which is a very good make) is notorious for a particular fault that stops it being able to play CDs after a few years.  We know this because we're on our third one - and it has recently started going the same way as the others.

This time though, Will was determined to try a new tactic.  He went on to YouTube  and managed to find a video of someone repairing the well-known fault.  It did require going into the bowels of the machine - a place which is well out of Will's comfort zone - but he took courage in both hands and tried to do what the man said.  

And incredibly, believe it or not, we now have a working machine again.  Just how good is that ....................?!
