Fiesta

After a slightly shabby start to the day, we piled into the cars and headed to the beach for swimming, rock jumping, sandcastle making and lunch.

After enforced siesta time and a quick dip in the pool for the kids, we got all gussied up for fiesta night. Some group photos before we left, with me pressing the button and running to join the gang and then off down the rio seco into town.

This shot is from up at the church where the icon was brought out to be paraded around town. I was hiding in the shade, hence the odd angle, hoping the cameraman above me would not fall off the 3 inch wide parapet he was walking along.

Dinner was in a traffic-free square so the kids could run around as we sipped summer wine and ordered more food than was seemly. On down to the beach where our host opened the cocktail cabinet for some suitable drinks to accompany the fireworks. As last year, they were magnificent, and perfectly timed with some very elegant music. Home then with very sleepy children - quite delighted though with their grown up late night.
