Weighed down

They may not look it but these scented peony blooms are heavy with water from last night’s rain. At least the botrytis which affected them last year is not visible. They thrive when there is not constant damp.

As they dry out their sweet perfume is lovely.

I took advantage of a few free hours to power hose the greenhouse and the paths at the back of the house. Long overdue and with the recent rain I am less concerned about water shortages!

A brief (at least by recent standards) Kirk Session meeting tonight but the follow up always takes time. A constructive meeting.
