Buffeted

For a few years I have tried to grow this bearded iris. In the past I’ve just had the leaves but no flower. Apparently the rhizomes need lots of sun.

Well we’ve had that this year and I’ve been looking forward to the blooms.

Today was the day for the photo ( yes, I know the garden again!) but it was more difficult than I thought it would be. The forecast was for gusty winds but it really was blowing a hoolie!

At times it almost looked as if it would be blown over - but it is well anchored.

More paperwork this morning then a further tidy up - and a call to our plumber as the cistern flush upstairs has has broken - a section has snapped. We can fill buckets but with guests arriving tomorrow that is less desirable. Fortunately he is calling round first thing so fingers crossed!
