one day in France

Thursday

Today is yet another bank holiday (Ascension) but we weren’t planning to go anywhere as it has turned awfully hot.
First thing, it was Rosie’s turn to do some cooking with me, so we made cheese straws. It took ages rubbing the fat into the flour, but no point making it easy, and she persisted till it was all done anyway! She particularly enjoyed applying the egg wash!
Then we made a salmon and broccoli quiche, using the Magmix for the pastry this time!
After that it was time to mow the lawn with Papi, lunch, and swimming all afternoon. Both children can now  swim down and pick up Sinkies (they are a little stone filled stick) from the bottom of the pool in the deep end (2m deep)!
That’s me, bottom left photo, with a clingy limpet swimming on my back!
Granny and Papi are exhausted.
