Harvey

I have seen this puppy a few times when walking to and from Mummy hazelh's care home in Newcastle. A month ago on 24th April I even initiated a conversation with his owner in the street. This was cut short when one of my not-so-little sister's friends a few steps away recognised me from photos on Facebook. Today when I came across the puppy and his owner on my way to the care home, I stopped for a proper conversation and a blip. I now know that the dog is called Harvey. He's growing up fast.

I had a lovely day with Mummy hazelh. She is so much more settled than she was a fortnight ago. Not once did she ask me where she was or why she was there. Together we chatted, read the Hexham Courant, and watched Scottish folk music on the iPlayer. I also knitted. I don't want to start counting chickens, but I am hopeful/praying that her recent disruptive behaviour may have just been a phase...

My train journey to Newcastle today was also fun because I played 'What you can see from the train' tour guide to a single elderly American tourist. She now knows about: Ayton castle, the De La Rue family, and banknotes; St Aiden, St Cuthbert, Holy Island, the Lindisfarne gospels, and Viking raiders; the Angel of the North; Durham cathedral; and the 200th anniversary of the Stockton to Darlington railway!

Exercise today: walking (21,735 steps).
