Heavy Clouds

Yet another slow start to the day. It was very windy again, though not as warm as yesterday, and there had been more rain overnight. I started the day with my book before heading out to meet friends for brunch.

We were rather disorganised! One friend, the organiser, completely forgot, but turned up late. Another went out for a run, but then also joined mud later. Another wasn’t sure whether it was still on, so brought her book just in case she was on her own. She was delight when I turned up just after her. Despite all of this, we had a really lovely catch up, and some delicious food.

Not long after so got home, there was an awful rain shower. TT was gardening, but I couldn’t see him so assumed he must have been sheltering in the garage. He was in fact in at our neighbour’s. Given the awful weather, I started to get organised to bake a cake for BB’s birthday, and realised that I didn’t have the right sugar. Once the rain went off, it really brightened up, so I decided to risk popping out for a walk, and I picked up some sugar on my way home.

I then baked a chocolate Guinness cake, as requested by BB, before TT cooked tea. I popped out briefly, and when I got home, BB had just appeared home, and was looking for his tea!

We had a quiet evening, and I read some work papers. Given these clouds I was lucky to get home dry this afternoon.
